Goal Zero Yeti 1000X vs Growatt VITA 550

Side-by-side on the specs that decide it — surge, capacity, runtime and price.

Both models' specs verified against manufacturer listings · Last updated

The short answer

Growatt VITA 550 costs $800 less. Whether that gap is worth closing depends on what you need to run.

⚠️ Before you buy

If you plan to cycle the battery daily, think twice about the Goal Zero Yeti 1000X. Its NMC cells are rated for 500 cycles against the LiFePO4 rival's longer life — over years of regular use that's the more expensive unit, whatever the sticker says.

Goal Zero Yeti 1000X

The older X-series 1kWh. Rugged and expandable, but its Li-ion cells and 2-year warranty look dated next to the LiFePO4 6th-gen Yeti 1000.

Best for: Only at a discount against the newer LiFePO4 Yeti 1000.

Where it falls short:

  • NMC — ~500 cycles vs 4,000 for the new Yeti 1000
  • 2-year warranty
Growatt VITA 550

A tidy half-kWh unit with fast charging and a 1,200W surge that lets it start small appliances a 600W rating wouldn't suggest.

Best for: Campers who want fast charging and a bit of surge headroom at half a kWh.

Where it falls short:

  • 538Wh is weekend-scale
  • 3-year warranty
